Happy Monday Anita,

My name is Merrie Kay and I had a recent opportunity to meet Sara at my local Wells Fargo and had an interesting conversation about Obesity in the workplace.    She talked about the support that she has from you around wellness and education to help her loss weight and keep it off.   Weight is such a personal struggle for so many, it was nice to hear her openness to discuss weight loss and what support she has from Wells Fargo.

I wanted to see if we might be able to schedule 30 minutes to talk about what Wells Fargo is already doing around weight management and employee health to make an impact on wellness and the overall healthcare spend.  We are interested in finding ways to support and partner with companies to help with education and resources to change the stigma of obesity and help in the understanding of obesity as a chronic complex disease.  Even now as we see the impact of COVID on our lives, this pandemic is bringing to light the correlation and health risk that obesity plays in so many diseases.  Our tools are 100% free to you and our goal is to increase the knowledge of obesity as a complex and chronic disease.

If you might time the week of March 8th, possibly on Wednesday or Thursday, the 10th or 11th, I would really appreciate your insights on how we might be able to support your teams around obesity education.  We can also schedule further out in the month if your schedule is full in the near future.

Thank you for your time and I do look forward to hearing from you.

Kindest Regards ~ MKay

Hi Shari:

Last year, Jack Nightingale from Gallagher provided us an introduction. I am the Account Manager with Novo Nordisk, which is a pharmaceutical company with a focus in diabetes and obesity. In my role, I focus solely on obesity/weight management working with employers in the MD, DC and Northern VA areas.  Our goal is to provide employers education/awareness on the disease, the impact it is having on the workforce as well as to share insights on a chronic care benefit design.

The pandemic certainly has shined a light on obesity with many gaining even more weight during this time. So many employers are struggling with getting people back to work and even finding and retaining people, so it is critical as you know to keep those employed as healthy as possible.

Now that you are past open enrollment I thought I would check back to see if now is a better time.

Look forward to connecting.

Tara

NOTE: Team and Cheryl:

Thought I would share. I just got a response back from Hilton which I have tried a few times. You can see emails sent so far. You can see I used the sentence from Cheryl a few weeks back and then sent a note the other day attaching Milliman but also stating that understand covid is making all busy but would they have interest at a later time.

Something in there worked.

Good Morning Amanta and Priyanka: (August 18th)

Reaching back out to see if you are interested in taking a look at obesity/weight management within Hilton workforce. As a company, most people know us for our expertise in diabetes space however we have been looking at obesity for~15 years.

Our goal is to share information in this area particularly around benefit designs and resources to engage your employees. All of our resources are publicly available for employers to use.

Definitely understand that covid is taking up a lot of time and focus so if interested but prefer talking at a later time please let me know.

I have a attached a research piece from Milliman on obesity and impact to an employer.

Hi Amanta and Priyanka: (July 30th)

I see on Linked in you have the responsibility of leading the health benefits for Hilton US. I am the Account Manager for Novo Nordisk, which is a pharmaceutical company. We specialize in diabetes and obesity. In my role, I focus solely on obesity/weight management working with employers in Northern VA area. Our goal is to bring awareness around obesity as a disease and share insights on how the disease impacts the health of the organization via costs, comorbidities, absenteeism/presenteeism.

The pandemic certainly has shined a light on obesity with many gaining even more weight during this time. So many employers are struggling with getting people back to work and even finding and retaining people, so it is critical as you know to keep those employed as healthy as possible.

We are not a vendor, just looking to share information and resources in this space and remove barriers to care. Obesity tends not to be standard via health carriers.

Please let me know if you or someone on your team is avail for an intro call.

Attached is a piece on Novo Nordisk so you can see who we are as a company.
